How to choose a mate...
Hello, according to Williams and Sulikowski (2020), we
choose mates based on the way in which we view ourselves. By choosing to select
a mate in this manner, we run the risk of settling if we do not find or attract
a mate that matches with our ideals (Williams & Sulikowski, 2020). This
study suggests that we lower our standards when choosing a potential partner
when our own perceived mate value is low (William & Sulikowski, 2020). In summary,
the way in which we value our own date value directly impacts our mating preferences
(Williams & Sulikowski, 2020). In other words, we attract who we are, not
what we want. If we want to stop dating the same person over and over, we must
change the way in which we view ourselves. I know it sounds cliche, but we have to learn how to love ourselves.
